Ruth is a licensed Ohio Funeral Director, and Ohio licenses insurance agent, and is certified by the Cremation Association of North American as a crematory operator.  She is married to H. Lee Hadley.  She graduated from St. Marys High School in St. Marys, WV.  She attended Marietta College and WVU in Parkersburg, WV.

She is a member and past president of the St. Marys Business & Professional Women's Club, past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors District #12, St. Marys Chapter #31 and Matamoras Chapter #261 Order of Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North American, White Shrine of Jerusalem #12 of Marietta, OH, and is a trustee of the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival Committee in Marietta, OH.  She also serves on the entertainment committee and the program committee of the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival Committee.
